Call It Done
Privacy policy
Effective 13 October 2026
Call It Done works without an account, and then your tasks stay on your phone. If you create an account, we keep a backup of your tasks so you can move to a new phone. We don't sell data, and the ads free accounts see are our own, with no ad network involved. This page lists everything that leaves your device and why.
Who is responsible
Call It Done is run by to be added, to be added. Write to to be added about anything on this page.
What stays on your device
- Your tasks, their titles, reminders and settings, unless you have an account (see below). Photos you attach as proof always stay on the phone.
- The copy of your next task shown on your watch and in the widget, which your phone passes to them directly.
- What you say when you add a task by voice. Your phone's own speech recognition (Apple's or Google's) turns it into text; on iPhone this happens on the device when the phone supports it.
What the app sends to us
- A random install id. Created when you install the app. It isn't linked to your name, and it lets a purchase made on the web count on your phone.
- Usage events. Which screens you open, which features you use, when you add, finish or delete a task, and purchase steps, along with the app version, system version, phone model and language. We use them to see where the app is confusing and what to build next. They never include the text of your tasks, only things like how long a title is. They go to our own server; there are no third-party analytics or advertising tools in the app, and no advertising id is read.
- Workshop board posts. Ideas and bug reports you post in the app, which other users can read.
If you create an account
An account is optional. You sign in with Apple or Google; we never see your password. We then keep:
- Your name and email address, as Apple or Google share them. With Apple you can choose to hide your email.
- A backup of your tasks: titles, how urgent and important they are, reminders, repeats, and whether they're done. It's what lets a new phone or a second device pick up where you left off.
- A token for each of your devices, so a change on one can wake the others to update.
You can delete your account at any time on the account page. That deletes your name, email, task backup and device tokens from our server straight away. The tasks on your phone stay until you delete the app.
Ads
Free accounts see a few ads, for our own apps and services. They come with the app: no ad network, no advertising id, no tracking across other apps or websites. When one is shown, tapped or closed, the usage events below record it so we can tell which ones annoy people. Premium removes them.
Payments
Premium is sold through Stripe (card payments), PayPal, Robokassa, the App Store or Google Play, whichever you choose. They handle your payment details; we never see your card number. From Stripe, PayPal and Robokassa we receive whether a payment went through, the plan, the renewal date and their reference for it, stored against your install id. Each provider's own privacy policy covers what it collects.
The website
- The email address and phone type you enter to join the waitlist, used to tell you when the app is ready.
- Signing in to your account, which uses a cookie to keep you signed in.
- Page views measured with Vercel Web Analytics (no cookies) and PostHog, which may keep an identifier in your browser.
Where it's kept and for how long
Our server and database run on Vercel and MongoDB Atlas. We keep your account and task backup until you delete the account, usage events for up to 24 months, purchase records as long as tax law requires, and waitlist emails until the app launches or you ask us to remove them.
Your choices
- Delete your account yourself on the account page.
- Email to be added to see or delete anything else we hold about you. Tell us roughly when you installed the app and on which phone, or give us the receipt of a purchase, so we can find it.
- Deleting the app deletes everything it kept on your phone.
- You can unsubscribe from waitlist emails with the link in each one.
Children
Call It Done isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date, and big changes are announced in the app.
